L’humus di lombrico è uno dei concimi organici preferiti dai coltivatori di cannabis.
Le ragioni sono diverse.
Ha un effetto molto positivo sul terreno grazie al grande numero di microrganismi che contiene. E’ inoltre un prodotto molto conveniente.
L’humus di lombrico è il risultato di trasformazioni chimiche di rifiuti organici digeriti dai lombrichi.
È prodotto in modo naturale, quindi è naturale al 100%. Se miscelato con qualsiasi substrato, conferisce una texture più spugnosa.
Inoltre, i suoi nutrienti vengono rapidamente incorporati nel terreno.
Un’altra delle grandi caratteristiche dell’humus di lombrico è la protezione della zona delle radici delle piante.
Oltre a molti dei microrganismi che contengono un effetto di scudo contro l’attacco di funghi e batteri che possono influenzare le radici, ha un alto contenuto di micorriza. La micorriza è un tipo di fungo che agisce in simbiosi con la radice. In natura è sempre esistito, poiché i vermi non hanno mai smesso di produrlo. Poiché l’essere umano è stato interessato all’agricoltura, i concimi animali e tutti i tipi di resti organici sono stati salvati per la maturazione. I lombrichi sono attratti dall’odore di questo sterco, colonizzandolo rapidamente e iniziando a produrre il famoso humus.
Uno studio pubblicato da Charles Darwin, uno dei più importanti naturalisti della storia, e presentata nel 1837 presso il Geological Society di Londra, afferma che i lombrichi sono responsabili della formazione della copertura vegetale e che questo è il prodotto della sua attività digestiva. Il più curioso può cercare questo lavoro dal titolo ” La formazione del manto vegetale dall’azione dei vermi: con l’osservazione sulle loro abitudini”.
SOLIDO O LIQUIDO?
L’humus di lombrichi più comune è solido. Di solito è usato per mescolare con il substrato nelle semine e nei trapianti. La proporzione ideale di humus sarebbe dal 20% al 40% del substrato totale. Può anche essere applicato in qualsiasi momento del raccolto, anche se non è il più appropriato in quanto le basse temperature o la luce solare possono influenzare i microrganismi che contiene.
L’humus di lombrichi liquido, d’altra parte, viene utilizzato come qualsiasi altro fertilizzante, in base alle esigenze delle piante. E, naturalmente, sempre sciolto in acqua.
