Potremo finalmente dire che avremo un’industria per la cannabis che assicuri alle persone che acquistano il prodotto che stanno acquistando un prodotto legittimo da aziende legittime “. – Kruger al Times
Secondo il rapporto del Times, il 40% della maggior parte delle entrate fiscali sarebbe reinvestito in quelle comunità, il 40% sarebbe utilizzato per l’ istruzione pubblica , mentre il 20% andrebbe verso il trattamento della droga, la prevenzione e l’istruzione. Il piano di Cuomo aveva la maggior parte dei fondi stanziati per il Fondo Generale, su cui l’esecutivo ha un maggiore controllo.
Secondo la proposta, le vendite al dettaglio di cannabis sarebbero colpite da un’imposta statale del 9% e dal 4% locale, insieme alle tasse statali sulle vendite, portando l’aliquota fiscale effettiva sulle vendite al 21%.
La metà delle licenze del settore verrebbe riservata ai richiedenti di equità sociale , comprese le minoranze, le donne, i veterani disabili e le persone più colpite dall’applicazione sproporzionata delle leggi sulla cannabis. Sarebbero disponibili anche programmi di equità sociale, che includerebbero prestiti, sovvenzioni e programmi di incubazione per piccoli agricoltori e individui provenienti da comunità con un impatto sproporzionato che desiderano entrare nello spazio.

Today, I went to the beachfront with my kids. I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She put the shell to her ear and screamed.
