Dopo una vacanza attraverso il sud della Spagna , mi sono trovato ad Amsterdam con un paio di giorni di tempo libero prima di ritornare a casa.
Un viaggio ad Amsterdam è un’esperienza fondamentale per chiunque ami la cannabis. Prima che l’accesso legale alla cannabis diventasse realtà in Nord America, l’Olanda era la meta per i viaggiatori che cercavano di godersi i suoi fiori comodamente in una cultura che non li stigmatizzava.
Mentre il panorama globale della cannabis è in rapida evoluzione e sta diventando più conosciuta ed accessibile che mai, un’avventura nei coffeeshop di Amsterdam è ancora un rito di passaggio che può insegnare tanto sulla storia e sulla cultura della cannabis moderna. Inoltre, Amsterdam è una città fantastica, piena di arte, storia, intrattenimento e molto altro.
Prima di andare oltre, permettetemi di chiarire che mentre io ho degli standard elevati riguardo alla cannabis, non penso che i miei gusti siano “superiori” a quelli di chiunque altro. I gusti che ho sviluppato derivano da anni di esperienza nell’acquisto e consumo di cannabis e sono per lo più incentrati sul gusto e sull’esperienza che ogni ceppo ha da offrire.
Etichetta e consigli sui Coffeeshop
La Cannabis come detto non è difficile da trovare ad Amsterdam, ma se sei alla ricerca di ibridi robusti e ricchi di terpeni o di occasioni vantaggiose come nei negozi degli Stati Uniti, tieni presente che le cose sono un po’ diverse.
Quindi ecco alcuni suggerimenti per esplorare i coffeeshop in tutta la città.
Non fumare in pubblico. Vai nei coffeeshops.
La bellezza di un posto come Amsterdam è il numero di luoghi accoglienti e confortevoli dove fumare una canna tranquilli e condividendo l’esperienza con amici. Non ha senso spingere i limiti del rispetto in pubblico; Basta entrare in uno dei tanti coffeeshop della città. Occasionalmente puoi trovare bar, ristoranti e altri stabilimenti all’interno dei quali è possibile consumare cannabis.
I coffeeshop sono migliori nei giorni feriali.

Ceppi come Jack Herer , Cheese e AK-47 sono la norma e si vendono a prezzi ragionevoli tra € 8-15 al grammo o $ 9-18. Gli ibridi più complessi con genetiche alla moda come Cookie , Gelato e Zkittlez raggiungono un prezzo molto più alto, con un costo che arriva fino a € 35 al grammo ($ 40).
È interessante vedere gli olandesi entusiasti della genetica americana moderna come gli americani con i ceppi di Amsterdam.
Evita i bong ed i pre-rolled joint.
I bong disponibili nella maggior parte dei coffeeshop sono piuttosto strani, e mi ricordano ogni sciocco bong mai visto in un film. Molti turisti che visitano sono lì per lo stesso motivo per cui tu sei arrivato in città ed ho sempre trovato facile stringere una conversazione o condividere una canna con estranei in un coffeeshop.

Ora che hai un’idea dell’etichetta della cannabis ad Amsterdam, lascia che condivida alcuni dei miei coffeeshop preferiti.
Barney
Con quattro sedi in tutta la città, è facile imbattersi in un Barney’s . Se stai cercando di acquistare cannabis però, assicurati di andare nel posto giusto. Barney’s Uptown non vende cannabis, ma è proprio dall’altra parte della strada rispetto al Barney’s Coffeeshop. Visita Barney’s per il suo staff amichevole e intelligente e le varietà vincitrici della Cannabis Cup.
Così come il famoso Green House, Barney è un posto dove puoi sederti e goderti un buon pasto mentre fumi.
Ho provato il loro Dr. Grinspoon e Tangerine Dream . Il Grinspoon era edificante ed inebriante, una varietà veramente energizzante che è fantastica per le avventure diurne. The Tangerine Dream aveva un classico sapore terroso, aranciato e bei boccioli grassocci.
Ho condiviso un tavolo con quattro ragazzi in vacanza da Dublino che mi hanno detto di fare un salto ad Amsterdam nei fine settimana per godersi l’erba. Barney’s è sempre un ottimo posto per iniziare o terminare una giornata ad Amsterdam.
DNA Coffeeshop
A circa dieci minuti di metro dal centro città c’è il DNA Coffeeshop. È un coffeeshop curioso e pulito che è molto più un dispensario che un caffè. Entrai prima di prendere il caffè del mattino, supponendo che fosse DNA Genetics , l’allevatore di cannabis di Amsterdam. Ho capito subito che non lo era, ma sono rimasto piacevolmente sorpreso dal loro servizio e dalla loro selezione.
La loro Super Lemon Haze è stata la prima vera varietà di terpie che ho incontrato. I suoi classici sapori di limone e la dolce euforia mi hanno aiutato a dimenticare che non avevano da vendere la caffeina mattutina. Prima di andarmene, ho condiviso una canna di una Black Domina tranquillizzante con un turista del Regno Unito, molto cordiale anch’egli.
DAMPKRING
Questo paradiso per stoner visivamente meraviglioso merita anche solo un breve sopralluogo per l’esperienza estetica che offre. Pareti modellate, soffitti scolpiti e pannelli in legno color caramello lo rendono un affascinante set cinematografico. Assicuratevi di cercare Bowie, la mascotte felina, ormai una celebrità tra la gente del posto. Non siete convinti che possa essere un luogo frequentato da vere star del cinema? Ebbene, tutto il cast di Ocean’s Twelve entrò in questo locale per girare alcune scene del film, per cui si respira un’atmosfera da vere celebrità. L’ambiente è molto accogliente, c’è un’ampia scelta di bevande e potreste anche avvistare qualche personaggio famoso. Vi consigliamo il cioccolato caldo!
Prix d’Ami
Su consiglio di alcuni amici ho visitato Prix d’Ami , un coffeeshop a tre piani in centro che presenta un cinema 3D, un comodo salotto, grandi frullati e una buona qualità di cannabis. Lo spazio lounge quasi ti costringe a socializzare con altri visitatori, e la sua vicinanza al centro della città lo rende il primo e l’ultimo posto dove la gente si ferma quando arriva e parte da Amsterdam.
Il loro menu è vario e ogni varietà sembra essere di qualità abbastanza buona. Avevano alcune “varietà di Cali” davvero impressionanti come Runtz, Wedding Crasher e alcuni ibridi di “Gelato” che sembravano incredibili, ma non posso giustificare il supercosto di € 30-35 euro ($ 35-40) per un grammo.
Invece ho provato la loro Ghost Train Haze , una varietà con sapori di agrumi e un pizzico di diesel. Ho giocato a qualche videogioco, socializzato con alcuni turisti e guardato sport su uno dei loro numerosi televisori. Anche i loro snack sono convenienti.
Abraxas
Abraxas è un’esperienza “da coffeeshop” che semplicemente non puoi lasciarti sfuggire ad Amsterdam. Abraxas potrebbe essere il mio coffeeshop preferito in cui tuffarmi per una serata di joint solitaria. La sua atmosfera non è seconda a nessuno.
Nascosta tra le stradine del centro della città si trova una sala a tre piani con un’atmosfera stravagante. I rami degli alberi annodati si intrecciano con altri decori naturali che danno l’impressione di essere atterrati nella Terra di Mezzo. È come visitare la casa dei tuoi amici hippy, tranne che passano tutto il tempo facendo in modo che tu sia a tuo agio e contento.
Nel momento in cui entrai, il budtender sorrise e mi accolse. I suoi occhi si illuminarono e il suo sorriso si allargò quando chiesi quale fosse la sua preferita. Mi ha mostrato un’autentica cheese che aveva quell’aroma profondo, funky e formaggioso, unico per la varietà.
Ho lasciato € 14 per un grammo senza ulteriori domande. Era la miglior cheese che io abbia visto nell’ultimo decennio. Mi sono goduto una canna con una cola ed ho acceso una conversazione con un gruppo di turisti che festeggiava un compleanno. Avevano diviso un paio di torte spaziali ed erano in quella fase ansiosa che passa tra l’aver mangiato il cibo speciale e sentirne gli effetti. L’ilarità seguì mentre scambiavamo le nostre storie e condividevo la mia cheese con loro.
Green House
Green House è un altro coffeeshop leggendario con una storia di coltivazione di varietà vincitrici di Cannabis Cup. Con quattro posizioni in giro per la città, ce ne è probabilmente una nelle tue vicinanze. La mia preferita è la Green House United, a pochi passi dalla stazione ferroviaria centrale di Amsterdam ed è facile da trovare.
